Digital Signage at APR Villas - Clarifications - 6 June, 2025
Dear Residents,
We would like to provide additional clarity regarding the launch of the digital signage system, which was previously announced in our May community newsletter. It appears that the message may not have reached or been read by many residents, and the installation has raised some concerns particularly related to the clubhouse’s aesthetics, screen brightness during evening hours, and a perceived focus on monetization through advertising.
Purpose
As previously communicated, APR Villas is a premium residential community with a strong focus on sustainability, order, and high living standards. The introduction of digital signage supports these values and serves the following purposes:
Enhanced Communication of Guidelines - Consistently remind drivers to follow 20 KMPH speed limit & road safety.
Event Announcements - Details of upcoming community events to increase participation in community activities.
Real-Time Community Updates - Timely announcements, including water conservation messages, safety protocols, and health emergency alerts.
Sustainable Sponsor Acknowledgement - Many of our events and initiatives are sponsor-supported. Avoid printing banners, pamphlets, or standees, and use a more sustainable and aesthetically pleasing alternative. Sponsor advertisements will be run for a short time leading up to the event.
Management of Digital Signage
The digital signage system, including the hardware and software, is fully owned and operated by APRVOWA. All content and scheduling are managed internally by the association, with no involvement from third-party vendors and no shared-revenue advertising models.
The system is managed in collaboration with respective committees to ensure content remains appropriate and relevant to the community.
Screen Locations
Four screens have been installed at key locations:
• Two at the main entry and exit gates
• Two inside the clubhouse
The screen at the front of the clubhouse has been strategically placed to align with the upcoming renovation of the façade, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the new design.
Regarding the rear gate, this area experiences high foot and vehicle traffic. While we considered placing the screen outside the gate, we opted for an internal installation to maintain resident privacy. We remain open to revisiting this decision based on community feedback.
Operating Hours & Brightness
The digital signage will be active daily from 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM. These hours may be adjusted in response to resident concerns, particularly related to brightness during evening hours. The screen brightness is being calibrated for day mode and night mode settings to keep it at non-distracting levels.
We recognize that traditional communication channels, such as newsletters, WhatsApp groups, and the event portal may not always reach all residents effectively. The digital signage system is designed to provide important updates in a timely and visible manner for all who enter or exit the community or visit the clubhouse.
Although digital signage isn’t emissions‑free, studies consistently show it dramatically reduces paper, ink, and waste compared to printed alternatives. When combined with LED efficiency and smart operating protocols (e.g. scheduled on/off, brightness sensors), it offers a more sustainable and eco‑conscious communication method for communities like APR Villas.
We sincerely appreciate your continued feedback and are committed to making further adjustments to ensure this initiative serves the best interests of our community. Any questions or comments, please write to us at mc@aprv.in
Warm regards,
APRV MC Team
